RE:START SHOPPING CENTRE USES CONTAINER CONSTRUCTION

Near the city a new shopping area has developed using containers.  It is a remarkable and innovative use of containers which seems to work well.  Plus they are strong and re-usable if the site is redeveloped.  At present they are expected to stay there for two years.  There’s certainly a nice feeling walking around the mall – there seems to be plenty of room and the containers are not claustrophobic, with multiple containers working well.

  1. I’ve caught up many thanks Chris and Sally…oh how dreary Omahru! Love the writing and wonderful pics. This use of containers must inspire Pete with his Morseleum plans? Each time I’ve visited the west coast I’ve been rained out and found it gloomy, grey mouth indeed. Sad to see Christchurch so battered but great to see the irrepressable spirit of the kiwis. Good luck for the remainder of the trip, I remain glued to the screen, bring it on you two (currently in Mt Gambier attending to the old folks at home, planning for the next development!).
